The process of queueing is an applied stochastic model. Its study began in the mid of last century. After two decades of development, queueing modeling, theory and applications had extended in many directions. Among those, two studies published in the year of 1969 coincidentally created the topic of strategic queue, or called queueing economics. Since then, this topic, integrated with game theory, has found many practical and interesting applications. In this talk, I will illustrate the aspects of strategic queue via three typical decision problems. Those are: to queue or not to queue to an observable system, to select the arrival time to an unobservable system, and to choose between an observable and unobservable systems. Along with the problems, new perspective of strategic queueing in modern platforms, such as IoT and e-commerce, will be demonstrated.
